Workplace from Meta	Shut down	Workplace went read-only on September 1, 2025 and shut down on June 1, 2026. Meta deleted the data that was left on the platform. Source
SAP Jam Collaboration	Retiring Jan 1, 2027	SAP will sunset every edition of SAP Jam Collaboration, and it will no longer be accessible from January 1, 2027. Source
Salesforce Chatter	Off by default	From the Summer '26 release, Chatter is turned off by default in new Salesforce orgs in favor of Slack based Salesforce channels. It has not been retired in existing orgs and no retirement date has been set. Source
Jive	Active	Jive is still sold and supported by Aurea, part of ESW Capital. Many customers are consolidating it into Microsoft 365 to cut license costs. Source
Workvivo by Zoom	Active	Workvivo is an active, growing product from Zoom. Organizations that standardize on Microsoft 365 and Teams often consolidate it into Viva Engage. Source
Socialcast by VMware	Retired	VMware ended availability of Socialcast in May 2018 and support for paid licenses ended on May 17, 2019. Source

How long does a migration take?

Typically 4 to 10 weeks, depending on the amount of content and how many waves you run.

Is there downtime?

No. You keep using your current platform while content is staged and checked, then cut over when you are ready.

The migration tool runs in your own Azure environment, so your data stays inside your Microsoft cloud the whole time.

What happens to posts from people who have left?

They can be reassigned to a current user or kept under a historical profile, so context is not lost.
